A great opener for any section of band.
Written as the signature tune for Kevin’s weekly Brass Band radio programme of the same name.
St. Austell Town Band conducted by Kevin Ackford
E Da Sa Qaqa is a Fijian Gospel song sung by the Fijian Rugby Team after winning the World Cup in 2016 and again during the Olympic games this year in Tokyo after winning the Rugby Sevens gold.
The title translates as We Have Overcome which is also very appropriate given the struggles of the last 16 months worldwide and now we are starting to win the battle against the pandemic.
This arrangement has given it a twist by adding a reggae beat to this beautiful melody. A real crowd pleaser. Playable by all sections of band
A slow dreamy opening followed by a pop/rock finish. Great fun to play, the percussion section can let their hair down and audiences love it.
Written for Kevin’s Partner Barbara “An Huni a Garav” translates from the cornish language as “The one that I Love.”
This Beautiful melody will well into any concert programme.
Tenor Horn Legend Gordon Higginbottom described it as: “A lovely piece, a nice change to have a good melody not ruined by loads of twiddly bits, a real beauty.”
