E Da Sa Qaqa (We Have Overcome)

E Da Sa Qaqa is a Fijian Gospel song sung by the Fijian Rugby Team after winning the World Cup in 2016 and again during the Olympic games this year in Tokyo after winning the Rugby Sevens gold.

The title translates as We Have Overcome which is also very appropriate given the struggles of the last 16 months worldwide and now we are starting to win the battle against the pandemic.

This arrangement has given it a twist by adding a reggae beat to this beautiful melody. A real crowd pleaser. Playable by all sections of band

Wesley while sat under a tree in a park in the town, this beautiful melody has been brought up to date by Kevin and was arranged for the Holsworthy Town Band to celebrate their Centenary. Arranged to commemorate those who lost their lives in the sinking of the Titanic this is a very subtle and emotional arrangement beginning and ending with simulated ship’s bell and lone cornet.

Reflections of Love

Reflections of Love started out as a song without words for piano. Kevin had taken this beautiful melody and transcribed it for Brass Band to great effect.

This haunting melody from the pen of G. F. Handel was used in a 2002 television advert for a well-known brand of jeans. A great addition to your concert programme.

Takeda no Komoriuta (Lullaby of Takeda)

Takeda no Komoriuta (Lullaby of Takeda) is s beautiful Japanese folk song which tells the story of a young girl. The girl was forced to leave her family and village to go to work for a rich family on the other side of a mountain. As the girl worked carrying a baby on her back she thought about her family. Missing them she sang this song to comfort herself.

Playable by any standard of band this has proved to be very popular with audiences.

Time

Originally written for the St. Dennis Band in celebration of their successes in 2016, it tells the story of a journey through time gradually building before that journey ends and a new one begins as if time has gone back.
