Description
Mis Meurth is Cornish language for the word March, and pronounced Miss Merr.
An easy, jolly march composed for the St. Minver Training Band in 1919.
The Band played the march at the West of England Bandsman’s Festival held in the village of Bugle.
Bugle is between the Cornish towns of Bodmin and St Austell.
The contest itself is the only drive in contest in the world.
Also the only contest in the UK to have a trophy donated by a member of the Royal Family.
The St Minver Training Band were the first youth or training band to march on their own during the morning parade.
