Eb Tenor Horn Duet with Piano Accompaniment
Jacques Offenbach’s beautiful Barcarolle from Act II of Les Contes d’Hoffmann.
Duet parts played by Kevin Ackford
From Claudio Monteverdi’s opera L’incoronazione di Poppea. First performed in Venice during 1643, this duet has been popular on many charts compiled by Classic FM and has been described as “one of the most romantic duets of all time.”
This duet has long been associated as being a Euphonium duet, here Kevin has arranged this beautiful Duet from Bizet’s ‘The Pearl Fishers’ for two Eb Tenor Horns using the harp influence of the original in the accompaniment.
Score & Parts
Crowning Glory was written for Denton Brass as their march for the annual Whit Friday March Contests. This bright energetic march has all the hallmarks of Kevin’s march writing with obbligatos for the Soprano Cornet and Solo Horn.
A great concert opener for all standards of bands.
